The Loss and Damage Collaboration Santiago Network Project invites you to attend a launch event for a Loss and Damage Response Toolkit, to be held at 10:00am to 12:00pm GMT on Tuesday 17 March 2026.
Please register for the event here.
What is the Loss and Damage Response Toolkit?
The toolkit is a practical and user-friendly guide to assist a range of stakeholders that need support and wish to provide support to enhance the global response to loss and damage caused by the adverse effects of climate change.
The focus of the toolkit is to explain and unpack the Loss and Damage bodies and clarify pathways for support under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its Paris Agreement. This includes information on the Warsaw International Mechanism (WIM) Executive Committee and its thematic expert groups, the Santiago Network, and the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage (FRLD).
Why a Loss and Damage Response Toolkit?
This toolkit builds upon and updates an earlier blog published by the Loss and Damage Collaboration on support available to respond to loss and damage under the UN Climate Change regime. Like the blog, it is a snapshot in time and will be updated as these bodies continue to evolve.
While both the Santiago Network and FRLD are currently receiving requests for technical assistance and financial support and the WIM Executive Committee is providing policy guidance, Loss and Damage stakeholders have many questions about how best to engage.
It is hoped that this toolkit can enhance understanding and cooperation so these institutions can be better leveraged together and separately to ensure that where support is available it reaches those who need it.
