LDYC
The Loss and Damage Youth Coalition (LDYC) is a coalition of youth from the global North and South who have come together to demand action on addressing Loss and Damage from climate change. With more than 800 members from over 80 countries, LDYC is working to build a borderless global partnership between youth to take action on addressing loss and damage. Starting in 2020, their vision is achieved through the working groups that include advocacy, storytelling, communication and training. The LDYC welcomes those under the age of 35 wishing to engage in work on Loss and Damage.

In 2022, LDYC scaled up our action to include a Pacific and Latina America focus. In addition, they launched the #LossAndDamageFinanceNow Campaign and with the support of the Climate Justice Resilience Fund (CJRF) began to host the Loss and Damage Youth Grant Making Council to strengthen the decision making power and active contribution in action to address loss and damage of the youth through the Loss and Damage Grant.

LDYC seeks to strategically enhance the power of the youth to influence loss and damage international policy decisions. LDYC also seeks to strengthen the demand to take action to address loss and damage by allowing youth to be active stakeholders at the grassroots, national and international levels.

LDYC is a separate and distinct initiative which grew out of L&DC’s work and we work closely together to raise awareness of the importance of scaling up action and support to enable the world's most vulnerable people, communities and countries to reduce and respond to loss and damage from the impacts of climate change.
