We are honoured to welcome the First Minister of Scotland, the Right Honorable John Swinney MSP (east session only), representatives of the Scottish Government and partners from across the world including the Climate Justice Resilience Fund (CJRF), Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF), C40 Cities, Give Directly, The International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), Christian Aid, Oxfam, Tearfund and many more.
Over the past five years, through its Climate Justice Fund, the Scottish Government has invested over £10 million (13 million USD) to support locally led projects that address loss and damage caused by the climate crisis.
This new report from the Loss and Damage Collaboration (L&DC) captures the stories, challenges and lessons learned from this pioneering work. Produced in collaboration with the organisations that have delivered the projects on the ground, the report is intended to shape global Loss and Damage response to ensure that it is driven by local realities and community-led action. Key recommendations are provided for Loss and Damage at COP 30, in Belém, Brazil, the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage and its Santiago Network and the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage.
