Key Messages for the Sixth Meeting of the Advisory Board of the Santiago Network for Loss and Damage (SNAB 6)

The sixth meeting of the Advisory Board (SNAB 6) of the Santiago Network for averting, minimising and addressing loss and damage (Santiago Network) takes place from 24 to 26 March 2026, in Geneva, Switzerland, preceded by a closed Advisory Board-only informal meeting on 23 March. The provisional agenda covers many important topics, including:
- Operationalisation of the Santiago Network:
- Membership of the Santiago Network
- Catalysing technical assistance
- Additional procedures for the participation of Observers: Recommendations from the Task Force on Outreach
- Santiago Network Results Framework
- Complementarity and coherence
- Collaboration with the WIM Executive Committee, including on terms of reference for the regular report on loss and damage pursuant to Decision -/CP.30 -/CMA.7.
- Collaboration with the Fund for responding to Loss and Damage, including on the country support system pursuant to Decision B.7/D.8.
The following key messages respond to provisional agenda items 2-10 and are not necessarily comprehensive or arranged in order of how they will be addressed during SNAB 6. They build upon an extensive body of work as part of the L&DC’s Santiago Network Project and they will continue to be updated, as needed, to align with developments in the agenda items being discussed.
