This study analyzes how climate shocks like droughts and floods impact agriculture, poverty, and gender inequality in Burkina Faso using a gender-sensitive economic model. It finds that rural areas and women, especially skilled women, are most affected experiencing reduced employment, increased domestic workloads, and rising poverty. The findings highlight the urgent need for targeted, gender-aware climate policies to protect vulnerable populations and reduce long-term social and economic harm.
