The twenty-fifth meeting of the Executive Committee (ExCom 25) of the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage (WIM) will take place from 14 to 18 September 2026 in Majuro, Marshall Islands. Holding the meeting in a frontline Pacific island nation brings the work of the WIM closer to communities experiencing Loss and Damage first-hand, helping to ground discussions in their realities, knowledge, and priorities.
The annotated agenda for ExCom 25 covers a range of key issues to be discussed during the meeting. These include:
- Preparation of voluntary guidelines for enhancing collection and management of data and information to inform the preparation of biennial transparency reports;
- How the latest climate science can inform policy-making relevant to averting, minimizing, and addressing loss and damage;
- Work related to the ExCom’s thematic expert groups;
- Collaboration with the Advisory Board of the Santiago network, funding arrangements, including the Fund for responding to Loss and Damage;
- Information collection and preparation for the second global stocktake; and
- Recommendations to be included in the 2026 ExCom annual report.
This living document will provide live updates on all of the agenda items discussed at ExCom 25 and once the meeting has closed, an overview of what was agreed.
