WHAT HAPPENED ON LOSS AND DAMAGE AT THE 2025 JUNE CLIMATE MEETINGS?

This brief details what happened on Loss and Damage during the sixty-second session of the Subsidiary Bodies (SB 62) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and its Paris Agreement and Kyoto Protocol, which took place from 16th to 26th of June in Bonn, Germany. The following issues are covered:
- The third review of the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage (WIM);
- The Brazilian COP 30 Presidency’s approach to Loss and Damage;
- The Santiago Network for Loss and Damage (SNLD);
- Stakeholder consultation on draft voluntary guidelines for loss and damage information to inform the preparation of the Biennial Transparency Reports (BTRs);
- Baku to Belém Roadmap to 1.3T and Loss and Damage; and;
- Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Loss and Damage.
